Dimitrios Gatsonis is a Senior Executive at HOCHTIEF Solutions and CEO of Aegean Motorway in Greece since 2009. Under his leadership, the Maliakos – Kleidi Toll Road Project was successfully restructured in December 2013. The new section of the motorway, comprising 11km of twin tunnel construction, was completed in March 2017 and given to traffic at the beginning of April.
Before his appointment at Aegean Motorway in 2009, Mr. Gatsonis was a senior executive at HOCHTIEF AirPort. His assignments included Dep. CEO & Director Business Development at Budapest International Airport following its privatization, the development & restructuring of Sydney Airport, and the completion & development of the new Athens International Airport.
Mr. Gatsonis looks back to more than 30 years of professional experience, 20 of which in the Development and Management of Airports and Road Infrastructure as Public-Private Partnerships.
Apart from a member of the BoD and the executive committee of HELLASTRON, he is a member of the BoD of the Panos Mylonas Road Safety Institute (IOAS) and Vice-President at the Greek-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
